015 Hi! I have a Compaq Presario v2000 laptop. I recently formatted it with Windows 7. I got most of the drivers installed no problem, The sound drive however was a bit tricky. Now, I realize that my DVD writer wont burn DVDs. It plays DVDs, CDs, and even recognizes blank DVDs and CDs, it just wont burn them. I use Xilisoft AVI to DVD converter and after the program is completed converting a video file, it automatically burns it onto a DVD for me. It still 'acts' like its burning the DVD (example: no error messages), It just doesn't actually write anything onto the blank DVD. It is just left a blank DVD at the end of the process. Also, the laptop doesn't make any noise when it says it is 'burning', as it usually or always should.SOO, I am guessing it is because I don't have he driver installed for my CD/DVD writer. After much searching, I had no luck finding a driver, except on the HP website, but it doesn't work for my laptop (or because of Windows 7). My exact model number is Compaq Presario V2000 V2718WMPlease! Any help would be so greatly appreciated015

Your DVD drive is missing the Burning Program not the driver. I found an update for your windvd software for windows 7 but you probably have to have the full program installed to run the update. Hope this helps.
